"My treatment for a bowel blockage"

I felt awful when I arrived at the unit but got taken through for an initial assessment fairly quickly. Unfortunately as unit was busy it was some hours before I was then taken from the waiting area back through to be treated. Everyone I met from then on and during my overnight stay were friendly and professional and approachable. All tests were carried out in very good time and I was kept updated with information on my condition. I left the hospital feeling much better and knowledgeable about next steps concerning my care. Will be popping back in with a thank-you for the staff as soon as I can.

Thank you so much for taking the tine and trouble to post your lovely comments, which the staff in the Emergency Department will be delighted to receive. It will be heartening for them to know that you felt so well supported and reassured during what I imagine must have been a very worrying time.

I apologise for the lengthy wait you endured initially, due to the high demand on the service, and appreciate that this will have compounded an already stressful situation. Please be assured that our senior team our doing all that they can behind the scenes to improve the current situation and minimise waiting times.
