"My husband passed away from cancer after battling with it for just two weeks. He passed in December aged 36, and I was 6 months pregnant with our second child. As I was preparing for birth I was full of all emotions, apprehensive about how things would go but also grieving at the same time.
I gave birth to my baby. I unfortunately began haemorrhaging and was put under general anaesthetic to stem the bleeding by placing a balloon and packing. as I returned the student nurse who looked after me that evening: Kasia was fantastic. She was gentle with her approach and understanding. I felt exhausted from labouring but also from loosing all the blood I lost, over a litre and a half and going under general anaesthetic. She looked after me so so well overnight. Allowing me time to rest, and creating a relaxed atmosphere by the way she cared for me.
The following evening she returned and was delighted to see me again. She spoke openly about how my story spoke to her, and everything else. How she was going to use my birth story and how she looked after me after the procedure for her case study for university. I wouldn't fault her care, she is amazing! And whoever she looks after will feel well cared for!
"giving superb care"
