"Poor appointment organsiation! Misleading Text…"

About: Southend Hospital

On Saturday 23rd April I recieved a text message from the hospital stating I have a' APPOINTMENT' on the 25/04/22 at 9am in Cardiology! Firstly, this was sent out on a weekend ( extremely last minute) so had no way of checking anything before arrival. I arrive (today) Monday morning in cardiology, to find out this text was regarding a 'reminder to return heart monitor' which I had ALREADY returned a week prior to this! Also nowhere in the text did it state that it was 'only a reminder'! I was turned away without any appointment. Extremley misleading and a huge waste of my time ! Very disapointed in this lack of organisation and communication. I wasted money and time travelling to the hospital. What's even more concerning is the receptionist mentioned I'm not the only patient who has arrived for an appointment due to a misleading text message! How many people have had to organise travel arrangements, possibly childcare ,book time off work etc... for an appointment that doesn't exist! This is out of order and needs to be sorted!
