"Be proud of the work you do, it really matters"

Huge thank you to Dr Jafferbhoy and his team, particularly Shelly, Lead CNS in Gastroenterology for the care given to our 93 year old mother over the last few months as she suffered a flare up of her ulcerative colitis. This has been a distressing time for her and her family as she struggled with her bowel symptoms whilst also suffering from cognitive decline. Shelly’s communication was excellent with the family and mum, guiding us through medication changes and endoscopy procedures. She really listened and dealt with our concerns about mum, adapting treatment when it affected mum’s cognition.

I can’t thank her and the team involved enough for their kindness and care. Mum is finally on the recovery path and coping more easily with life. It is teams like you who are standard bearers for NHS Scotland, be proud of the work you do, it really matters.
