"Professional and caring staff"

About: Dewsbury & District Hospital

I visited A and E with what turned out to be a severe ankle break in 3 places and dislocation of my foot. After expressing my fears that I had broken bones to the triage nurse, I was seen within 15 minutes, taken straight through to a nurse, then x ray, then to a full team who managed my care and manipulation of my dislocation. They were calm, caring and professional, communicating everything quickly and clearly to me but taking time when I needed a little more reassurance, showing respect and understanding about my worries and fears. After a temporary plaster cast I was taken immediately to Pinderfields for surgery. I cannot praise the staff highly enough to see me through the first stage of my treatment. Although a traumatic visit, I felt incredibly confident in the care I received. Thank you.

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments regarding your recent experience.

I am sorry to read of your ankle fracture and can only imagine what a worrying time this must have been for you. However, I am really pleased to read how caring and supportive staff were to your needs.

I have shared your kind words with the staff as I know how much they will appreciate your comments.

Thank you again and I hope you are recovering well.

Kind regards

Clare Blackburn
