I have been at the NRC for a number of weeks and there has been a massive, massive change in myself. I have had both occupational therapy and physiotherapy and they have been so determined to get me from transferring with a Sara Stedy to being more independent with my transfers and mobility as when I came here I was unable to walk. I thought they were being a bit ambitious but I am now able to walk with a stick and transfer without using a Sara Stedy. I have enjoyed the daily gym sessions on weekdays and they have been the biggest help. I think the food could do with improving, the options aren't very varied and it can be quite heavy as well. On the whole, the nurses have been excellent and I feel well cared for. I am now looking forward to going home and being at a more independent level than when I first arrived here thanks to all the staff and their hard work.
