"Excellent maternity experience from start to finish"

I came to Daisy Hill's Maternity Department for a planned C-section. My experience has been absolutely grand - it has really been excellent from start to finish.

This is my first baby and the C-section team were absolutely brilliant with me. Before the procedure the staff members explained everything in great detail to me in the the waiting room which was good and helped calm my nerves. The section itself was very quick - only 45 minutes and the staff were brilliant throughout. Even when I was sick at the start I was looked after all the way.

Up on the Maternity Ward I have received the same excellent standard of care. I have been here for about four days now in my own side-room which has been great.

The staff are all very thorough in checking both my stitches and my baby. My baby has been in the SCBU for his first day and a half where he was cared for excellently.

The staff up here on the Maternity Ward have kept me posted on my baby very regularly throughout both the day and the night - this was immensely reassuring to have. The staff have also been really great at keeping my dressings etc. in good condition.

All the staff members involved in my care have been brilliant. However, I would like to give a special mention to midwife Briege who has been with me the most throughout this experience. She has been absolutely fab - really brilliant. However, it has to be emphasised that every staff member has been great and I have had great banter with the ward staff throughout my stay. 

I have no suggestions for improvement - I honestly cannot fault the care I have received.
