"Disappointed"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Ambulatory Emergency Care (AEC)

(as a service user),

Disappointed.

After being referred to the ambulatory clinic from my GP, I was a bit nervous but felt reassured when I was taken from the waiting room in 5 minutes into the clinic. After taking my history I had bloods done, an ECG and an X-ray. I was left to walk back to the clinic on my own which was daunting as the place is a maze.

I have now been back in the clinic for 2 hours and 20 minutes and have not seen one soul. I realise that results take time and have no problem with that, but, a wee head in the door and a “are you ok”? would have been lovely.  I was offered a drink three hours ago which was fab. I have no water and as I haven’t seen anyone there’s nobody to ask

Dear Buster3103

Thank you for your feedback. I would like to apologise for the time that you had to wait and that you did not have any interaction with staff whilst waiting. Were you in the surgical ambulatory clinic based on the 4th floor in the pink zone?

If you are able to give me a call on 01224 553892 we can discuss further.

I hope you are feeling better

Best wishes

Linda
