"They could do nothing but apologise to me"

About: Ninewells Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as a service user),

I attended A&E at Ninewells in early September 2021 and it was a busy night. When the doctor saw me, I felt they were very dismissive of me and reluctantly sent me for an x-ray.

I had a red flag, pain to the lateral malleolus. I was sent away without a moonboot, tubigrip or any exercises. I was not referred to the Fracture clinic. After 6 weeks, I called the clinic myself. They looked me up & were horrified that not much was done right. They asked if I had refused a moonboot, to which I answered no. They could do nothing but apologise to me.

Luckily, I work within the health service, so my colleague fitted the moonboot,  longer tubigrip and gave me the ankle exercises.
