"Labour ward experience"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / Maternity care

(as the patient),

I am disgusted with the lack of communication and lack of professionalism from the ward.

We were waiting at first for 3 hours with no communication of what we were waiting for or what the next steps were . We then were moved into a bed, expecting to be seen soon, only to be sat for a further 3 hours (still waiting)  with no communication at all.

The staff room is next to our bed where we can hear them all talking about their holidays , mortgages, complaining about other staff and patients- laughing and joking knowing they are next to the triage where concerned mothers to be are sat worrying, anxiously waiting for answers.

In my opinion it's no wonder people go private, I am truly shocked…
