"Caring helpful staff , clean and safe "

Partial knee replacement surgery , kind staff all levels , preop care well explained time to answer questions, but took several hours re staff off, choices of explained well preop and again on day of surgery eg spinal/ general anaesthetic , surgery options , reassuring and practical support re fear needles eg distraction ,numbing cream on hand, woke no pain in recovery more kind helpful staff .

Bells answered quickly on ward , not rushed when giving care eg washing , toilet .

Catering staff every shift also helpful ,flexible ,kind and good quality hot cold food sandwiches on offer every meal ,all very fresh , they also make sure i was comfy and could reach everything , I saw physio 2-3 times a day , slight issue re pain medications if need near change shift first night but was sorted out for next time.

Pharmacist explained meds well before left .

Consultant visited 4 times in 3 days to check on on progress , plus duty doctor daily .Aftercare eg physio staple removal ,6w check , take home meds , sick cert all sorted before left plus good to know can ring back day night if have any worry once home .

All staff worked well as team ,kind ,caring ,reassuring I felt safe and well looked after ,Well Done Ridgeway hospital and Thank you
