I was taken to Scarborough hospital by ambulance due to severe chest pains which required investigation. The ambulance service handed over to the corridor care team in the emergency department. Dawn, staff nurse, introduced herself to me and explained that I would be monitored in that location while various tests were carried out. Adele soon introduced herself to me and began the various tasks such as taking bloods and checking my blood pressure and temperature. The department was busy but they achieved a sense of calm and maintained good order in spite of some of the visitors making that quite difficult. They kept me well informed about the plans for me and ensured I was comfortable, including providing a sandwich and biscuits, and hot drinks for those who wanted one. Adele has a lovely warm, kind and caring manner while very professional. Results and assessments were explained to me by Rachel, the Advance Clinical Practitioner. Together the three of them provided me with excellent care .
"Good care in the hospital"
