"Struggle with addiction"

I have had several traumatic experiences over the years along with a history of drug abuse. Some of my more recent experiences had pushed me to my limits. Seeing Rebecca helped me through the majority of issues. I have seen several counsellors over the years but Rebecca has been by far the best. 

Our sessions were always about what I wanted and the steps I needed to take to get there. She would help me to deconstruct my thought processes and reconstruct them logically. She would listen to what I said and then summarise what I had just conveyed to her, making sure we were on the same page at all times. I think the most important technique used during sessions was that the onus was always on me to change. The questions were always worded in a particular way  -i.e. If this is YOUR goal, then what are are YOU going to do to make it happen?

I think the consistency in language really helps to reinforce the fact that the responsibility to change is always gonna be on me. The only person who can change my life is me. 

I am extremely grateful to Rebecca for my new perspective on life.
