"Starting with epilepsy at the age of 15"

About: Intellectual Developmental Disabilities /Learning Disability Services - Community / Epilepsy Service

(as the patient),

I started having seizures at 15 years old, completely out of the blue, which was very upsetting for me and my family.

Since then I have had numerous appointments and tests to find out what was causing my seizures and absences and have been taking medication for several years to control the symptoms. Thankfully the medication works well.

Now I’m an adult, I need to focus on the future and to get a job so I can support myself and to live independently.

It has been reassuring to have met Sarah today, as she will help support me going forward.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. It was lovely to meet you for the first time as you transition in to the adult epilepsy service. I am pleased to hear you felt reassured after meeting me today.
