"Care my mother received"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Ambulatory Emergency Care (AEC)

(as a carer),

My mother (who is 82 and suffers from Alzheimer's and Vascular Dementia) had to attend the Ambulatory Clinic at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, for a suspected DVT. The care she received as outstanding. She was taken in early, received a full battery of tests, when the scan was inconclusive and was seen by both the Dr and a Snr Consultant. The Dr. deserves a special mention for the kindness and consideration she showed both me and my mother. Even in my mother's very confused state, she remarked on how lovely the Doctor was. The Doctor was able to turn the whole experience into a pleasant day out, which my mother enjoyed. In fact the Dr. was so empathic my mother said she is looking forward to her next scan on Monday!. 10 out of 10 ARI

Dear normafx54,

Many thanks for taking the time to write in about your experience in the Ambulatory Clinic. I am sorry that your Mother had to come in to hospital and hope she is feeling better.

I will ensure your feedback is shared with the team and know how much this will mean to them.

Thanks

Julie
