Both my parents are drinkers and over the years I have had to care for one or both of them and sort different situations out. My Dad made contact with the Parent support link to see if he could get me support as he was feeling guilty about what had been happening for so many years. Not only did Rona help me but she also spent time with my parents and gave them all the info they needed to get support at Inclusion. My Dad is accessing at the moment but not my Mum, but still she is also doing a lot better due to my Dad cutting down and being different. I was allocated a family worker so am continuing my support around having 2 parents who drink and also I use the 24/7 help line which has been a lifesaver through the night when I have needed it. I would recommend if you know anyone who has a drink problem to call Parent support link and get the support for yourself as it has made a huge difference to myself and my parents.
