I gave birth prematurely in Nov 2019. I had a severe concealed abruption at 29 weeks and was rushed for a crash section very suddenly on arrival to MAU.
My baby was resuscitated and rushed to NICU. When I woke up I didn't know if she would survive or where she was.
Midwife Naomi was so calming and took wonderful care of me, ensuring I had a private room away from other moms and babies.
The consultant Aoife saw me and was very kind and sympathetic towards me.
Most of all, Dr Mclachlan went above and beyond. She visited my daughter in neonatal quite a few times over the 10 weeks we were in. She would sit with me and talk to me about everything. She slowly explained everything that happened to me and the rarity of it.
She has since been promoted, rightly!
I wish I could have told her how much it meant to me, how her kindness is remembered and how much I appreciate that my baby wasn't just another baby, that she actually took the time to visit her and keep an eye on how she was doing.
Craigavon maternity couldn't have done more. I'm eternally grateful to you all for saving my life.
