I wasn't sure where Caldicot Road was so I checked it out the day before as it's my worst nightmare to be late. On 15.1.2022 at 9.05am I went to my appointment on a cold grey day and didn't feel too good physically.
A man greeted me and then a woman attempted to instruct me regarding clothing. The first man intervened to be clearer and then the woman explained that I only needed to remove my bra. (I had been so used to stripping off my lower half in examination for early detection of cancer.) The first man took me to the lie down on the scanner and prepared my wrist for the injection of dye. He warned me that I would feel a hot flush and in my case it was a pleasant warmth.
The scanning was fine and the woman removed the needle. Throughout I was very tired and weak. I got myself sorted out. On the way out the 2 men were obviously observing me and how tired I was, which I thought was very conscientious of them and I appreciated that. As I left and after thanking them profusely, the first man suggested I drink some water when I get home.
To summarise: 3 lovely people and I am so grateful to them. I think it would be an idea to introduce / give job titles and be clear about clothing. The letter did not warn about the injection of dye. Cheers you three!
