"Professional, compassionate and patient service"

About: North Devon District Hospital / Cancer Services North Devon District Hospital / Colorectal surgery & stoma care North Devon District Hospital / Radiology (X-ray)

(as a service user),

Following my initial cancer diagnosis and detailed/thorough further testing, (including a spell of radiotherapy in Exeter) things moved very quickly and exactly in line with the promised timetable to successful major surgery in early July.

The speed of reaction was hugely re-assuring in itself. The level of subsequent care was/continues to be both regular + thoroughly professional at all ends.

From the ward cleaners + nurses through to the stoma nursing team and the consultants themselves - Ms.Beaton and Mr Evans-  the level of professionalism, compassion & patience of all staff was wholly remarkable. After 43 years since my last hospital visit/stay such 'bedside manner' very significantly reduced my trepidation in attending hospital.

Standard of food and general cleanliness throughout was excellent as were the covid precautions. In these difficult times for the NHS full praise . North Devon is fortunate in having such an institution.
