"Skin cancer identification"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Dermatology (Skin Conditions)

(as the patient),

I sent photos of a mole I was concerned about to my gp 2 years ago. I was then quickly referred to dermatology at Queen Elizabeth where Dr Wylie decided mole should be removed at that appointment for a biopsy. Mole found to be a melanoma and follow up biopsy of surrounding area was then found to be all clear. Follow up appointment was then another biopsy of another mole which was found to be all clear. My most recent appointment has determined there are no more moles causing concern and I have made an appointment in one year’s time.

Care provided by everyone involved has been first rate. Everyone calm, patient and thorough in their care of me. I am so grateful.

Hi phasegb87

It is always so nice to read praise of an excellent unit especially over the past two difficult years. We don't always take the time to say thank you. Praise also to your GP for being alert that makes a huge difference to the outcome and the treatment.

Keep up your care by doing a monthly skin check.
