"I cannot praise my experience highly enough"

I was welcomed into the waiting area by friendly staff then within minutes I was called through to the minor operations room by David who was to do the surgery. He immediately put me at my ease and chatted away. He introduced me to Maureen who also welcomed me and helped me to relax.

David and Maureen explained carefully what would happen during the procedure and how I would be affected. I was getting 2 biopsies - one in each shoulder- and the lovely calm atmosphere that David and Maureen created really helped so I had no worries and felt I was in safe hands. 

David gave me the injections and had prepared me in advance what to expect then he checked carefully that the areas were numb, which also set my mind at rest.

The biopsies themselves were totally pain free and there was only a slight sensation when the stitches were put in. All throughout, Maureen and David chatted to me and at the end they explained how to look after the wounds and what to do in case anything felt wrong. They also gave me leaflets away which is really helpful because sometimes you don’t retain information at the time. 

I can’t praise my experience highly enough - what could have been a scary time was made much more pleasant.
