"ICU Psychology"

About: East Surrey Hospital / Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

(as the patient),

I was very ill with Covid in January of 2021 and admitted to ICU at East Surrey hospital before being transferred to Guy's and St.Thomas' hospital. After being discharged home from Guy's I developed post ICU PTSD which was picked up by the fantastic Covid hub at East Surrey hospital. I had the absolute pleasure to have assigned to me the most amazing clinical psychologist, Dr.Wood at East Surrey hospital who helped me process and rescript my traumatic thoughts and memories to turn them from bad to good. Dr. Wood is a fantastic, shining example of how mental health issues should be dealt with, she is thoroughly professional and has a very modern and positive outlook and work ethic. I was discharged from her care in December but she has gone above and beyond in helping with on going psychological support by liaising with my local community mental health team. Highly recommended, an absolutely faultless service from East Surrey hospital and from Dr Wood.
