"Ambulance service"

About: Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as a relative),

Unfortunately my husband sustained an accident whilst at work. 2 paramedics assessed him on site and safely transferred him to Wishaw General A&E.

Outside A&E which was the 1st and last opportunity, due to visiting restrictions in the hospital  in response to current COVID situation they supported me  to see and talk briefly to my husband). The paramedics fully advised me of their professional assessment and the care they had provided him. Being a recently retired nurse this put my mind at ease.
Both paramedics were caring and compassionate truly demonstrating person centred care. Taking into consideration any actions that may have increased my husband's pain and doing everything in their power to avoid this. I am truly grateful for the care they provided and wish them both (young adults) every success in their ongoing career in the Scottish ambulance service.

My husband and I would like our appreciation of their service noted and our thanks passed to them , though I did not manage to get their names. Happy to privately provided any further information that may be required to allow the two paramedics to be identified.

Dear Weejeannie2,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback here on CareOpinion. I am so sorry to read that your husband had a need to use our services and that of the wider NHS after his accident. I hope that he is on the road to a full recovery and feeling better?

I would like to say thankyou also for such lovely comments. It appears that the staff have carried out their duties with the professionalism that we would expect and I am so pleased to read that. I would be happy to pass these onto the crew and their manager. In order to do this I would just need some more details. If you would like for this to happen can I ask you to email the date, time and location that the ambulance attended your husband and his name. This can be sent to sas.feedback@nhs.scot. I would also be very grateful if you could make reference to your CareOpinion username so that the team can easily link your email to this story.

Thanks again and I wish you and your husband all the very best (and have a great retirement, you will have deserved it after all the years giving care)

Kind Regards

Alan
