"Staff helping patient contact family"

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital / General Surgery (wards 19, 20, 24, 26 &29)

(as a service user),

I think the nurses name was Sam but while my mum was in ward 24 for a matter of hours during essential visits only, Sam arranged to help her contact the family using mum's mobile phone. She will never know how much she helped us with that small act. We'd been asking the previous ward to arrange this for over 2 days. Within 10 mins of being asked Sam had it sorted. Caring isn't always about medical care & Sam truly cares. Thanks so much to her

Dear Sonopat,

Thank you for taking the time to post such lovely feedback. We are aware how difficult it must be for families when their loved ones are in hospital with only essential visiting allowed. Sam will just see this as part of her job, but will be delighted to hear that such a small act has made a difference to you and your mum.

I do hope your mum is recovering well.

Kind Regards

Heather
