About: Gartnavel General Hospital / General Surgery (ward 4a)

(as the patient),

I was in Gartnaval General recently and wanted to thank staff for being so nice!

From the lady who let me in the surgical admissions, the lady who helped me get ready for surgery. The guy anaesthetist with the bad joke and the young girl to ask me all the questions a second time. Then finally the really nice girl who held my hand while the guy done the canula perfectly! She kept reassuring me and is just the most genuinely nice person. You two are such lovely people and I was lucky to have you there with me. I can now remember I have 6 guitars and my favourite is my 12 string ovation 😂 I hope I wasn’t being a pest when I was coming round. My words were not for coming out but I remember the mask wasn’t sitting right and I was trying to say I felt absolutely perfect 😂 Then the good moan about the local train service before I was taken to ward 1C. Thankyou to Amanda For having the light turned out and for the best tea ever.

Working with the public I know people are quick to moan and days can seem so thankless so I just wanted to make sure you all know how much you are appreciated and how great you all are. If I need to come back again I won’t have any worries. Thankyou all so much!

Thank you for taking the time to leave such lovely feedback in regards to your experience of using the General Surgery Department and Ward 1C of the Gartnavel General Hospital.

It was great to hear how all the staff were so supportive and understanding of your anxiety in what must have been a very stressful time for you and your family before and after your surgery.

I'm glad the staff were able to reassure you throughout and provided a comforting environment for you while you were in their care. I'm sure you weren't a pest at all we all like a good moan about public transport from time to time.

I will be pleased to pass on your thanks to all the staff involved who I'm sure will be as touched as I was to read your comments.

I hope your now recovering well and back at home feeling a lot better
