I had a telephone consultation where I was told I needed blood tests but the GP surgery was too busy to see me and refereed me to the hospital. I went to hospital and had my bloods done, the poor overworked nurse explained the majority of patients they were seeing were being sent from GP surgery’s as they were still refusing to see patients and they have had a handful that week from this surgery. I find it appalling they are treating their colleagues like this. It’s time GP surgeries opened back up and stopped putting more pressure on the hospitals. When I received my results back I got a txt from the GP to say give them a call which I did and I was told by receptionist next appt is February! February to discuss anomalies with my blood test. Any other business that gave the service they give would be out of business and the scary thing is their lack of urgency is risking lives. It’s time covid stopped being used as an excuse for being busy and GPs start to remember their duty of care to patients.
