"Orthopaedic trauma"

About: NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service) Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance Victoria Hospital / Trauma & orthopaedics

(as the patient),

Following an accident at home had to call on nhs24 for assistance. After an expected 4 hour wait, the ambulance crew were amazing. Quickly transferred to A&E where I was attanded to immediately. After an x-ray was found to have a broken hip. The care in A&E was outstanding. Transferred to ward 31 where the care was amazing. A special mention to ANP Lorraine who I kept very busy. As I am also NHS staff, I understand how difficult things are at the moment. Thank you for the care and attention given. Sorry but I am very bad for names.

Hi LesleyLes

I'm so sorry to learn about your accident and hope you are doing better. I understand your recovery may take some time, however I do wish you well.

Thanks so much for taking the time to provide positive feedback for the staff who cared for you. They all sound as though they put you at ease at what, I'm sure, would have been a worrying time for you and your family. The staff in A&E sound exceptional.

Here at NHS 24 we don't often get to hear what happens to patients following an initial call to 111. It's great to hear such stories of staff providing excellent person-centred care.

Should you wish to share any further detail in relation to your call to 111, then it would be good to hear further from you. You can contact me on 07814 299944 or email Patient.Experience@nhs24.scot.nhs.uk

Thanks again for sharing your story and best wishes for a full and speedy recovery.

Kind regards

Shona

Dear LesleyLes

Thank you for taking the time to provide Feedback for your recent experience. I am so sorry to read you had to make use of our services as well as those of the wider NHS.

It is wonderful to read all the positive feedback given for everyone involved in your care. It's great to hear every aspect was good.

Our Service really appreciates when patients get in touch to let us know about their experiences and I would really love to have your kind words passed on to the crew who attended to you. If you would like me to do this for you, please may I ask you contact our team at sas.feedback@nhs.scot with your name, address and date of when we attended to you. It would also be extremely helpful if you would make reference to your careopinion user name which will help us easily link to this story.

I hope you are feeling much better and back on your feet soon

Thank you once again

Best Wishes

Lesley
