"I feel so blessed and cared for at Altnagelvin"

(as the patient),

I would like to extend my thanks and gratitude to the staff I encounter each time (4 weekly) I visit the Cancer Centre for my chemotherapy.

From Mary and Blossom on the door who ask the covid questions, to Ann at reception, and the amazing nurses and wonderful oncology consultants who look after me.

I was in today and I feel so blessed and cared for by the familiar voices and conversations, I feel listened to, and the staff show a genuine empathy, are so patient and kind. They will take time out of their extremely busy clinic to say hello and see how things are.

Throughout the pandemic this team have gone above and beyond to take care of me and today as I sat waiting for my prescription I thought about how lucky I am to have my treatment here.

Hello and thank you for your feedback on the care and treatment you experience at the North West Cancer Centre.

I am Tara Boyle and I am responding on behalf of Cancer Services at the Western Health and Social Care Trust.

We are delighted to hear of your positive encounters during your attendances for chemotherapy at the NWCC and especially during these difficult times of the pandemic.

I will pass on your feedback to Mary, Blossom and Anne at the entrance to the NWCC, to the nursing team and the oncology consultants who will no doubt will be delighted to hear they have 'gone above and beyond to take care of you' and that you feel listened to, that they show genuine empathy and are so patient and kind.

We appreciate you taking the time to write these lovely comments about the staff at the North West Cancer Centre and that you feel so blessed and cared for.
