"From Xray to MRI scan via a CT scan in 53 hours"

About: Northwick Park Hospital

I had an Xray at 11.00 am on Wednesday 24th November, expecting to be told I would get the result in a week.

But no, the Xray operator saw a problem and referred me to A & E where I was seen by an excellent doctor, who was so efficient and arranged an immediate CT scan. This confirmed the Xray operator’s concern and followed it up, after consultation with Queen Mary’s Hospital, by arranging an MRI Scan which meant a stay overnight in Carroll Ward where the care and attention was exemplary.

They couldn’t arrange the MRI scan for Thursday and it had to be done on Friday at 4.00 pm

The doctor who dealt with me on Carroll Ward was delightful, it was a pleasure to have been her patient and so clear in demonstrating a wedge fracture in my spine and the advice she gave to deal with the pain etc.

I would also like to compliment the behaviour and attitude of the night nurses who had to deal with a patient in the bed next to me in the middle of the Wednesday night. This patient swore outrageously, calling them unrepeatable names and struggled with them, while, with incredible patience they carefully cleaned and got him back to bed.

This is amazing service provided by Northwick Park hospital and I give it 5 Stars

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your kind words left following your recent care at Northwick Park Hospital.

It was reassuring to read that you were seen to quickly and that our staff made sure that you were looked after. Also I was pleased to read that professionalism remained when there was a uneasy situation on one of the wards. I am glad that this did not impact your stay.

As you have mentioned a few departments within your feedback, I have made sure to let the teams know so that they can celebrate their good work and share with each other your lovely words.

We do have a Patient Experience Team and would always like to hear more about patients experiences within our Trust. If you would like to get in touch with us further then please call 020 8869 3638 or email LNWH-tr.PATIENTEXPERIENCE and we will be more than happy to speak with you further.

I hope that you are making a good recovery now.

Best Wishes,

Leanne Fernandes - Patient Experience and Engagement Lead
