I broke my arm in early January 2022. On entry to the Porto cabin outside, I was unsure of what I had to do and had to ask another patient. So I would have like to have seen someone on reception.
However from the first nursing staff I saw, I have to say they made me feel like they really cared about me and how I was feeling. I was taken to the X-ray department for an x-ray. I was sat outside only for a short time when a male nurse come along and said do they know you are out here waiting. He checked with the two lovely ladies in the x-ray room - something he didn’t have to do, but did showing he cared too. The ladies in the x-ray were also very caring about the pain I was in, I then went back to the waiting room, to wait for a nurse to assess the X-rays. Not long after I was called back in to be told I had broken my arm, on which the nurse explained everything to me.
The next day I had a follow up telephone consultation from the fracture clinic nurse, who explained how I would be feeling over the next few days and what I need to do over the next 2-3 weeks.
I have got to say I had excellent care by all of the staff that attended to me and was not keep waiting for very long.
Well done to you all, keep safe at this difficult time for all of us.
