"Outstanding care for hip replacement surgery"

About: Wrightington Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as a service user),

I want to express my gratitude for the excellent care I received during my admission on the 10th December 2021 for a total hip replacement at Wrightington hospital under the care of Mr Clayson .

Every member of staff I came across introduced themselves and were kind and professional.

I’ve been a nurse for 35 years and it was an experience to be a patient on the receiving end of excellent care ( albeit very scary !).

From Mr Clayson’s secretary , via pre op , admission on the orthopaedic unit to theatres and recovery on A ward every member of staff were an asset to this hospital.

The hospital itself is extremely clean , the food was great and nothing was too much trouble .

The only criticism would be the total lack of WiFi ! Meaning the poor nurses , as if they haven’t got enough to do , we’re running around passing patients the ward phone . Relatives / visitors were not permitted therefore were anxious to hear from us . It’s a new wing to the hospital therefore difficult to understand why this happens ?

If this could be improved it would be a faultless service .

I would recommend Mr Clayson , his team and the hospital for outstanding care .
