"The amazing Paediatrics"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / Blossom Ward (Paediatrics)

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

My daughter has a complex liver condition so we are in and out of hospitals frequently- generally Birmingham as they can cater for her specific needs. However, on this occasion we had to attend our local hospital- this being Craigavon. From the outset, the entire experience has been phenomenal. As you can imagine, it is a difficult time with an ill child, so having such a modern, welcoming ward, makes things 100 times easier. I couldn't fault the staff for their brilliant care and keeping us informed of what is going to take place. Not to mention the facilities... outstanding! I always sleep on a chair when in hospital, so to now have my own bed, I feel like I am in a hotel. Thank you to everyone on paediatrics who is making this whole process that little bit easier!

Thank you for this lovely feedback about the staff and facilities on Blossom Ward in Craigavon Hospital. I am so pleased that you found our staff helpful and you were kept informed during your stay. We designed the ward around the needs of our patients and their families so it's nice to hear that the facilities are comfortable for parents and caregivers when they have to stay with their ill children.

I wish you and your daughter well and a Happy New Year. David
