"Impossible to get appointment"

About: Danebridge Medical Centre

No problem with doctors but appointment system designed to make you give up. You have to jump through many hoops to speak to a receptionist and appointments never available. "Try again at 8.30 am tomorrow" SO stressful. I can't face trying and think this is the intention. Completely understand that some people take advantage but this would happen anyway. I have never been a nuisance patient and object to not being able to access medical help but , short of changing surgeries , don't know what else to do. We have been with this practice as a family for over forty years and it is now simply a huge business with the patients at the bottom of the pecking order. Doctors , nurses and reception staff all helpful and concerned but somebody is deliberately making the whole experience very very stressful and preventing patients ( certainly preventing me ) from getting the help they need. The website claims the practice offers face to face appointments , telephone appointments and online appointments. Not in my experience - Covid now the excuse for even worse service. Services sound wonderful and would entice new patients. The experience is very different. I am getting upset and stressed just writing this as am well aware that Danebridge will deny any of it is happening.

Dear Jean,

Thank you for your feedback, please accept my apologies and the late response to your feedback. I am sorry that you found it difficult to access an appointment at the practice, the time between Christmas & New Year is difficult with a reduced Clinical team due to the holiday period. I can advise that the practice is continuely reviewing the appointments system, with the aim to improve accessibility for patients. It is not our intention to prevent patients accessing the Service. If you are still having difficulties acessing appointments do not hesitate to contact me via the Danebridge Surgery email address Danebridge.surgery@nhs.net

Kind regards

Mandy Skelding-Jones

Practice Business Manager
