"Zoom call to Covid positive mum"

Exactly on time. I was able to see mum at her bedside. I initially struggled to get the sound sorted but after that it was straight forward. Although it was difficult to keep the conversation flowing at times, it was great to see mum looking so well. She struggled at times to hear what I was saying, but knowing she was getting the call gave her something to look forward to. I'd recommend having a list of things ready for you both to talk about unless there are various people in the house having small chats. Really appreciate this service and the operator also relayed to mum anything she wasn't able to hear.

My name is Máire and I'm part of the team that set up the Virtual Visiting service in the Belfast Trust.

I wanted to thank you for taking the time to tell us about how you found the video call with your mum. I can imagine that it's very difficult to be apart from your mum when she is unwell and I am glad that you were able to access the service and found it helpful.

It can be hard for patients to access online calls on their own, and I will let the facilitator know that you both found it useful to have access to someone to support your mum using the technology.

Please do avail of the service again if you would find it helpful, for both you and your mum, and I wish her a speedy recovery and hope you'll have her home soon.
