"Our brilliant treatment via NHS 24 on Christmas Day"

About: NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service) Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at Little France / General Medicine

(as a service user),

Our 14 year old son had been unwell for a couple of days (not COVID) with fever and sore throat, then on Christmas morning woke with obvious signs of strep throat and really poorly. We were able to access very prompt care via 111, with call back from a doctor within the hour. Antibiotics were available for us 30 minutes later at the ERI OPD6. The people we spoke to were helpful and caring. Amazing service - I work for the NHS and this reinforces how lucky we are to have it.
