"Totally let down"

About: Ayrshire & Arran Community Services / Community Maternity Services

(as the patient),

Unfortunately I feel totally let down by one of the community midwives in South Ayrshire, regularly ignoring attempts to get in contact with her, and who processed a urine sample over a month ago that wasn't properly sent for investigation, leaving me, at 27-31 weeks pregnant with an untreated UTI.

I had had no care since early November, and eventually broke down and requested another midwife. Thankfully, they booked me into AMU immediately for observation and a checkup, and thankfully baby is fine. I've been largely unsupported my entire pregnancy, and as a first time mum with a high risk pregnancy, I'm terrified and have even more trust issues with the NHS now.

Thanks so much to my new midwife.

Dear PureGallus

I was saddened to hear of your experience whilst receiving care with our south Ayrshire midwifery team. Although I am relieved to hear you have a new midwife and are now receiving the support you required, I would invite you to contact me so that I can investigate your concerns further.

thanks

Attica
