My husband was given Creon tablets prescribed by Doctor at Gastroenterology at Ninewells Hospital, Dundee in July 2021 Instructions said to take 2 tablets with main meals and one with snacks After asking local pharmacy what a snack consisted of decided only to take 2 tablets 3 times per day after food. No instructions what sort of diet would be most suitable for pancreas problem resorted to google who seemed to say low fat was best. Followed this until December when talking with N H S dietician said tablets should be taken before meals and explained what is classed as a snack. She also mentioned about a leaflet which was available from hospital regarding suitable foods and others to avoid.
Felt extremely angry in finding out this information which was denied to my husband and could have made a huge difference to him had he been given appropriate instructions and information from Ninewells when given medication in the first place.
"Given medication without sufficient instructions"
