(as the patient),

I cannot praise the midwife, Sophie, enough. She cared for me during the delivery of my first born and after the birth.  I had a water birth at Aberdeen Maternity Unit in May 2020. 

Sophie, was amazing from the minute she entered the room.  Everything was happening very fast. I went from terrified and confused to instantly feeling at ease and having an understanding of what was going on.  The care I and my baby received from labour to discharge was just astounding and I cannot thank her enough.

What was a daunting, emotional experience for a first time mum, was made so much easier to process by the empathy and care from Sophie and the team at the maternity unit.
