Initially I received some wonderful early support in the days following delivery from Gill .
I later had some breastfeeding difficulties and after fighting quite hard for quality support in my local area (the issues regarding this are being dealt with separately) I was referred to the marvellous Pamela.
Pamela really went above and beyond. From travelling an almost 100 mile round trip to provide me with a face to face consult on a Friday late afternoon, to contacting me over the weekend with tailored support and reassurance. She epitomised and embodied patient centred care, shared decision making, the 6 C's of Nursing, and the values of both NHS Grampian and NHS Scotland.
Within 48 hours I noticed a significant improvement in my breastfeeding journey, with Pamela's ongoing support, our situation continues to improve.
I cannot stress enough what a credit she is to her profession and the NHS. I cannot say where I would be without her (actually, I can- Pamela if you're reading this, I'd definitely be a negative number on the scale!) But, with her support I know I am in a happier, more confident, and pain free place.
Words can't fully convey my gratitude to Pamela and the support she has given me (and likely countless other mothers). Thank you.
