I got to a scan appointment about 20 minutes late, due to the fact that I was unable to locate the maternity building at the hospital. The city hospital has no directions, or maps for a new person to easily locate the building. Various staff and officials at the hospital gave us different directions to the maternity building, but all directions were wrong as we were being tossed up and down.
Eventually, after locating the building on our own, and getting there about 20 minutes to the closing time, we were turned back from the scan appointment with a nonchalant attitude from the workers there. Bear in mind, I am by all calculations, about 36 weeks pregnant and might even be earlier than calculated, which is the reason the scan was being scheduled in the first place.
I find it incredibly baffling that a hospital, in the "western world" would behave in this manner, with seemingly no regard for a pregnant lady about to pop, or for her unborn baby.
I feel that this is downright irresponsibility on the part of the hospital.
I am VERY displeased with the service and would never ever forget how my 1st experience at this hospital went. It was horrible to say the least. This has seriously dealt a blow to my mental health and I am highly aggrieved by the situation. Why would seeking basic healthcare be so difficult ? My state of mind is in shambles right now and I thought more than once of taking my life after this situation occurred.
