"Hope for the future"

About: Community Nursing Services / Sherwood Community Nursing Specialist Nursing Services / Mid Notts Community Diabetes

(as a service user),

What can I say, the whole team have been amazing, so kind, caring, compassionate, and funny.

I’ve been receiving ongoing support since April due to a diabetic foot ulcer, I’ve felt low, very low at times, wondering if I’ll ever get my ‘normal’ life back.

The nurses have helped build my confidence and self esteem while also working magic on my foot. The team has acquired some new  nurses, who again has been fantastic.

One nurse (Emma) sat with me for 20 minutes talking about my mood and how having a huge foot ulcer is impacting my life, my mobility, my ability to socialise, she gave me hope, that one day, I will do the things I love again. Once again I have HOPE for my future.

Other good nurses include

Fiona, she is comical and seeing her making me smile from the inside. Becka, will take her time to explain what’s happening and why, Tracey and Leah are so gentle, Jane, and Nikki, well, they doesn’t mince their words, but they have a  good heart

The whole team is worth their weight in gold. This is my way to say THANK YOU

Hello, my name is Jane Danforth. My role involves helping our service users, volunteers and staff to understand that Notts Healthcare wants to hear stories about our services. We reply to every story and it really helps us to improve what we do, how we do it and to hear about what works well too.

Dear Bugghgvv

What wonderful feedback! I am so sorry for the delay in responding to you. Firstly, I want to thank you for taking the time to share how you felt about your care and in particular the support from Emma, Fiona, Becka, Tracey, Leah, Jane and Nikki.

I loved your comment about the team being worth their weight in gold. We also want to say a second thank you as it's so motivating for the team to know that they were able to give you hope for the future when you were at a very low point with a painful condition.

I will make sure the team see this feedback as I know they will be absolutely bowled over to read it as I was.

Wishing you a Happy New Year

Kind Regards

Jane
