Throughout my pregnancy (which is my first), the midwives involved have been absolutely incredible.
Starting with my community midwife, Fiona, I can't thank her enough for her calm, approachable reassuring manner. She really put my mind at ease and was just lovely.
During labour, I was lucky enough to be allocated two wonderful midwives (Katie and Rebecca). I gave birth at Princess Royal Maternity in Glasgow and I cannot say enough wonderful things about my experience. I had a long labour and could not have got through it without the amazing team (including the angel who appeared in the shape of the anaesthetist that gave my my epidural).
I know the service is under huge pressure and whilst the staff were obviously extremely busy, this did not impact the exceptional level of care I received. Both Katie and Rebecca were unbelievably good. They were so comforting, reassuring, kind and professional. Special mention to Rebecca for being the nicest person I have ever met. She was quite simply just incredible and I cannot say enough positive things about her. I will forever remember her kindness and care.
Post labour, I was admitted to Ward 68 and once again, the staff were amazing.
Thanks to the incredible maternity services, I am now at home with my beautiful, perfect daughter and will forever be indebted to the amazing staff.
