"a gamble"

About: Westgate Surgery

I have been a patient at Westgate surgery since 1992, and it's always been a fine surgery.

The issue is, it's a gamble whether you're going to get a staff member who is attentive & kind, or if you'll be made to feel like a nuisance.

I can't fault the nurses, who are all incredible, and i know the surgery is currently under a lot of pressure, however i avoid calling because the reception staff are often so dismissive of concerns such as anxiety. Like they're much too busy to be on the phone talking to a scared patient.

It really is a lovely surgery in general, but a little more compassion would go a long way.

Thank you for the feedback. We are really sorry that this has been your experience.

The reception team are under pressure dealing with 2-300 calls per shift. We have this month appointed 3 new receptionists to try to reduce the volume they need to deal with.

If you have particular concerns please contact me with some details

Best wishes
