(as a parent/guardian),

My child had their 3rd surgery for grommets today and was extremely anxious. They explained this to the nurse during our pre-op assessment and we had a telephone call from Gill the play therapist and she was absolutely amazing.  She reassured them and went through the process with us. When we arrived Gill was waiting to see us.  She had prepared a goody bag and spoke through all their worries, showing a story of what happens.  She had a doll to role play the procedure and all of this meant my child went into surgery confident happy and settled well, and knew exactly what to expect.

The nursing team were all so kind and caring but the key to success was Gill. The consistency of having the same person support from start to finish was amazing we really appreciate the care received. Thank you so much xx
