"Outstanding Team"

We contacted ICT and their input commenced with a timely assessment of mums needs. Essentially, she had gone ‘off her feet’, unable to get up out of bed, and unable to tell us why as she cannot speak ( following a stroke 7yrs prior).

At 84 mum was desperate to avoid going into hospital where she was afraid she would be unable to communicate her needs, she wanted to stay in her home to rehabilitate and recover.

The Intermediate Care Team have provided at home an outstanding team of professional carers ,Physios & OT’s & nurses, all of whom have consistently supported a great outcome. ICT helped divert from hospital admission, preventing the development of pressure sores, and preventing infection through their vigilant observations, dignified personal care and guidance to family on how best to help and care too.

We have received (and collected to assist) specialist equipment including a hospital bed, wheeled commode and moboard. We have had support in training our family to use the equipment to safely transfer mum and continue to care for her at home.

The team have brought such a positive approach, and an energy and enthusiasm that has really built-up mums confidence and motivation. Their skills and professionalism has guided us forwards through the challenges of the last 5wks.

The family are mindful this wonderful care has all been against a backdrop of particularly high demand on the NHS and ICT services, given the volume of patients being admitted and discharged from hospital and the crisis of recruitment to care and of course the pandemic. We appreciate how physically and emotionally demanding this specialist care work is and want to say thank you so very much for your kindness and all that you have done for us and all that you are doing to help other people in need across the county.
