About: Borders General Hospital / Accident & Emergency Borders General Hospital / General Surgery (Ward 7)

(as a service user),

My dad presented to the accident and emergency department with the acute onset of stomach pain. Within 4 hours he was diagnosed with appendicitis with a plan for a laparoscopic surgery the following morning. All the staff where so kind and caring towards him and attentive. A special thank you to Mr Pal who preformed his surgery, Dr Harvey the anaesthetist, Colin McCarthy and the A and E staff for their kindness, compassion and attention. He was home within 8 hours of his surgery. 😊

Dear Ellie S, I'm sorry to hear your dad became unwell and had to attend ED with appendicitis. I am delighted however, that he had a positive experience during a worrying time for you all. I will pass on your lovely comments to the staff involved. I do hope your dad is well on the way to a full recovery.
