"Appalling service"

About: John Radcliffe Hospital

I was referred to the eye hospital by my optician on a routine referral. Appointment date was relatively quick-- 2 months. I attended for photography only, a process that took 5 minutes. My time within the eye department was just short of 1.5 hrs. 45 min wait for a routine eye test--- this had already been done by the optician but had to be repeated. 40 min wait for photography and was not scheduled to see any medical professional. Hence, a 2 hr each way journey for 5 mins of photography which took a wait of 1.5 hrs.

The waiting time was unacceptably long and despite Covid the waiting areas were packed. Some of the staff were obviously under pressure and trying to remain professional but others were downright rude and unhelpful. In short an unpleasant and chaotic experience.
