I have been receiving treatment at this Rheumatology Department for many years even after a house move took my family away from the area. My consultant has been continuously excellent in the manner of treatment, explanation and friendliness. It is obvious that my notes have been read before my appointment and re-capped in detail before I give my update. I’m not saying that I’ve not had the odd hiccup with appointments being cancelled or delayed but the hospital has been quick to apologise and rebook them. The Treatment Centre is always welcoming from the reception staff to the nurses. It’s noticeable that they all use hand sanitiser and the area looks clean and uncluttered. Even throughout the Covid epidemic, I have felt safe visiting Rheumatology. At this visit, I also had to attend the Phlebotomy Department for blood tests. I was seen by a very friendly member of staff who was very efficient (a painless experience with no bruising). I then went to the X-Ray Department. Again, the radiologist was very friendly, efficient and was able to do x-rays whilst I remained in my wheelchair. My appointment spanned lunchtime so I was lucky and not kept waiting at all. I don’t normally write reviews but having been treated at other hospitals, their patient service is nowhere close to that of Hinchingbrooke’s. I hope we can keep this hospital. If I had one concern, it would be that hospitals in the NWA group in general could improve their sharing of information as I have visited other hospitals in the same group who do not seem to be able to access my complete records (CT, MRI, blood test results, etc).
