I had a stroke at home and was treated initially at Chesterfield Royal Hospital. I was in hospital for two weeks on Eastwood Ward and received excellent care- the whole team, and I mean the whole team, nurses, therapists, domestic and catering staff, were all so encouraging.
On discharge from hospital, I was treated at home by the hospital’s Supported Early Discharge Team for 6 weeks.
After my 6 weeks was up, I was referred on to Derbyshire Community Health Services Community Neuro Team and had excellent care and support from Occupational Therapists on the Team, helping the recovery from my stroke.
I am now well on the way to a full recovery from the stroke and am very grateful for the help and support I have received from Chesterfield Royal Hospital and Derbyshire Community Health Services over the last few months
