Monday evening, I attended the A & E department of the hospital and the two staff members Nurse Katrina and Dr Brendan treated me. I believe that Katrina was officially off duty, but she noticed the droop in my face and her sharp observation meant I was treated very promptly. These two staff members were lovely and spent time with me, treating me and arranging for medication which would allow me to go home that evening, as I had someone with me to keep an eye on me. I returned, as requested following a phone call, to the stroke unit on Tuesday morning where I was treated exceptionally by Nurses Amanda and Valerie and also the Lead Consultant (I didn’t catch his name). All the staff were lovely, they were attentive, focused and I felt like they left no stone unturned. They gave me the time, showed patience and I felt like I was treated as a VIP in their department. During this difficult time during a pandemic, when staff are pushed to their limits and the NHS is exhausted, I felt it is so important to express my gratitude, appreciation and acknowledge their exceptional attention shown to me. Thank you.
